We found out that he arrived in the US in '87, attended high school in the quaint town of Pacifica (a seaside city off San Fran), and we also learned a new term called 'flick the finger' from him (hehe). First, he brought us to the Cliff House, a structure that stands lonely and defiant against a vast Pacific seascape. Looking at the old black and white photographs, feelings both eerie and alluring surface. Here's one, taken in the 19th century(!)
"Looks like some Scooby Doo mansion" Anyway, it is now preserved as part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. I didn't take any pictures of the Cliff House because the sun was too bright, but I took this picture of the sea coast just some feet away from the patio.
"Present day - surfers in the sea" Next, Nafira brought us to at least 3 vista points to view the Golden Gate Bridge. At one of these vista points, a sample of the suspension wires used to hold the bridge in place was displayed - and damn those are thick suspenders! Vista point 1 - at lowest elevation.
Vista point 2 - at highest elevation, taken nearing dusk. You can see that the moon is up.
Vista point 3 - at middle elevation, taken at twilight.
At about 8 PM, we went for dinner near JapanTown in San Francisco. Ironically, we had not Japanese but instead Hakka food. Finally, we went for dessert at Ghirardelli. After tasting it's ice cream dessert, I finally @#$%-ing understand why Ghirardelli is so famous. You can see Chong Keat and Nafira coming out of the shop.
